What is Internationalt Forum

Solidarity between rebellions

Internationalt Forum is a solidarity-organisation. We are fighting for a world where the globe’s resources are shared equally and where the right for autonomy and diversity are in centre. We want a world without imperialism and war, where neither multinational corporations nor USA and EU rule on behalf of the rest of the world’s population. The global agenda is currently decided in non-democratic ways, through international institutions such as G8, World Bank Group and WTO. Their politics concentrate wealth among less and less people while billions of people live in poverty and misery. International solidarity between populations is vital in the struggle for a better world. Internationalt Forum supports people’s right to fight for freedom and resist against oppressors. E.g. landless farmers in Brazil, rebels in the mountains of Colombia, political activists in Palestine, native women in Chiapas, homosexuals in Iran and asylum seekers in Europe.

Issue groups

Internationalt Forum consists of different issue groups. The groups are responsible for most activities. If you would like to be part of one or more of them, then take contact and learn more. The groups work with Chiapas in Mexico, South America, USA, the Basque Country, Western Sahara and the Middle East. The groups inform about the conditions in the regions we work with and pass on experiences from social struggles and political organizations. We hold lectures, show films, organize study trips, actions, support-parties and seminars, have public meetings with international guests and send out peace guards.

Internationalt Forum’s shop

Drop by IF’s shop in Copenhagen, have a cup of coffee and look through our materials. We have a well-stocked library and a collection of videos, photos and journals. You can buy interesting books, smashing t-shirts and solidarity-coffee from Chiapas. The shop is open on weekdays 1-5 P.M.

Gaia – international solidarity periodical

International Forum publishes the periodical GAIA four times a year. The magazine focuses on social struggles and liberation-movements around the world. Through interviews, reports and analyses you achieve a thorough knowledge of problems which are rarely illuminated in the established press.

Branches in IF

Internationalt Forum has local branches all over Denmark. Most of the issue groups are based in Copenhagen, where our head-office and info-shop are also located. Contact your nearest local branch to hear about their activities, browse through our website or drop by the shop for more information.
